This customer wanted to display his military memorabilia from his time serving with the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery (RCA) and The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR), and also his UN Peacekeeping tour. Besides his medal rack, he had cap badges, RCA and RCR pins and shoulder boards.
Since the customer wanted to show as much of the main design on the flags as possible, but
still keep the frame down to a reasonable size, the two corners of the VRI and UN Peacekeeping
flags were folded back in the middle.
He also wanted access to his medals so he could wear them at
certain functions, but display them the rest of the time. This was achieved by creating a
“back door” access panel. The customer just has to move the turnbuttons out of the way,
pull out the mounting board (a clear polyester film strap makes it easy to pull out) and
remove the medals from the mounting board. The rest of the items in the frame remain
undisturbed.
