Parrot Ink-Block Frame
As an art project in junior high, my son, Chris, carved a parrot to be used for ink-block printing. Although he doesn't think of himself as being really artistic, he did a fabulous job and I thought it would make a great display sample in my framing studio.
The ink-block was float mounted on a dark grey background and has four layers of the same medium tone grey mat surrounding it. To add interest to the design, the sides of the mat were made much wider than the top and bottom.
