A new, out of town, customer came to me to frame an autographed Nathan MacKinnon hockey jersey (Colorado Avalanche), along with a few other items, for her son for Christmas. She saw examples of my jersey framing on the Internet and liked what she saw. I was pleased that she chose me to frame her jersey – it was over 320 km round trip from her home to my framing studio, which she did twice – once for the design consultation and the other to pick up the shadow box.
The frame was built from a classic black shadow box moulding from Larson-Juhl’s Confetti line. The mats were conservation mats from Peterboro Matboard. A narrow black bevel fillet from Michelangelo Moulding was cut in reverse to form the mini-frame around the extra items. Tru Vue’s conservation clear glass was chosen for its 99% UV protection.
My customer was thrilled with how it turned out and she let me know that her son was equally as pleased with his Christmas gift!
